MASTEC is a platform that helps the students of MCA to grow with technical skills and also helps in the overall development of the student.The inauguration for the Association activities of MASTEC for the academic year 2018-19 was conducted on 5th Oct 2018 at CGPC hall. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Anish John, COO, NeoVibe Innovative Technologies, Techno Park, Thiruvananthapuram. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Dr. Ashalatha Thampuran (Director, MCET), Dr. Sheela S. (Principal, MCET), Prof.Sreeja K. (HOD-in charge, MCA department) and along with the student and staff community of the department of Computer Applications.
The function started with prayer. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Sreeja K. where she warmly welcomed the dignitaries and the student community and encouraged the students to be part of the student association activity and get benefited.
The presidential address was given by Dr.Ashalatha Thampuran. She encouraged the students to be technically equipped as she believes that everyone has the potential and there is room for mastering many core branches within the department. Her address highly motivated the students’ communities to a large extent.
In her address, Principal Dr Sheela S., stressed the need of conducting more and more value based activities under the association for the overall development of the students. She also expressed her support and encouragement for all the activities under MASTEC.
In the forenoon session, as part of activities of MASTEC, a Software debugging competition was conducted for MCA students.
Association activities of MASTEC 2016 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. Anish John by lighting the lamp. The chief guest Mr. Anish John was felicitated by the Director of MCET with a memento and he mentioned about the need for innovation. He said that each student has to come out from their shell innovate and explore new things. He also specified that the students should not only stick on to book knowledge but also implement it in their daily life. He urged the students to innovate in such a way that it would reduce the burden of every single individual. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the events by the Chief guest.
HODs and faculty members of various departments of the college attended the function. The inaugural session came to an end with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Arya Rajendran, MASTEC Secretary.
