Mohandas College of Engineering & Technology

To make the students aware on design of various chemical processes and chemical engineering equipment a Software Laboratory has been introduced for S6 semester BT&BCE stream. In this laboratory some specific software packages has been implemented. This includes software packages such as “ASPEN PLUS” – Engineering suite and “CHEMCAD”- Process simulations software.
ASPEN PLUSTM can be used for a wide variety of chemical engineering tasks. ASPEN TM is a handy tool for simulating reaction engineering scenarios, such as designing and sizing reactors, predicting reaction conversions, and understanding reaction equilibrium behaviour. ASPEN PLUSTM allows to create own process model, starting with the flow sheet, then specifying the chemical components and operating conditions.
Chemcad full suite includes:
– Chemcad (CC) including CC- safety Net
– CC- Therm
– CC- Batch
– CC- Dynamics (CCReACS +CC D Column)
The lab is also equipped with high performance technical soft ware such as MATLAB to make the students familiar with optimisation, control and simulation of various engineering solutions using MATLAB and Simulink. The lab consists of CPP software to make the students aware of the solutions of various numerical problems using C++ language.
