BEST B.TECH PROJECT COMPETITON, PROJECT EXHIBITION & OPEN HOUSE
(Under the auspices of Research Wing –MCET)
SAMAGRA 2017 and OPEN HOUSE MCET, the two day event envisaged as a technical outreach programme of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology, Anad, was organised on 16th and 17thJune. Samagra provided an exhibition platform for display and demonstration of working projects of final year B.Tech students of Bio-technology,Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil Engineering branches of the college for of the college.
In Samagra, the projects developed by students of Electronics and Electrical Engineering stream focused on novel ideas in conserving energy which included Smart Scheduling of Home Appliances,Street Light Automation,Resonant Coil Based Footstep Power Generator. The computer science and Communication engineering students demonstrated their works on automation like Smart Bin, e-health card, Wireless Multipurpose Robotic Vehicle with Robotic Arm,Automatic Ration Material Distribution Based on Biometrics fingerprint enabled passport authentication,Vehicle Automation with Pre-Safe Technology etc. Students of Mechanical Engineering stream came up with projects that would benefit the less fortunate segment of society. Car Top Wheelchair Carrier, ,Car For Differently Abled Person were some of their realizations.
Eco- friendly considerations were the theme chosen by Civil Engineering students which included Heat Reduction in Building by using Silica Aerogel, Waste water treatment using Lab Scale Napier Reed Bed System, Reuse of Plastic Waste as Construction Material etc. The students from Biotechnology stream focused on research intensive tasks. Biosynthesis of Silver Nano particles Purification Optimization and Application of Tannase from Rice Husk, Extract of Fruit and Root of Coccinia Grandis were some of their outcome. Amongst the innovations unveiled, Isolation, sequencing & amplification of cho gene from bacillus sonorensis, Ultrasonic haptic vision system with intelligent navigation capabilities for the visually impaired,an automated paddy harvesting and collecting machine with a novel paddy collecting mechanism to diminishloss of grains after harvesting received appreciation from the visitors.
SAMAGRA was inaugurated by Principal Dr.Sheela. A team of experts from academia and Industry appraised the depth and breadth of each project in detail and shared their views. The modifications and imperfections pointed out by experts were eagerly noted by the team members which could be left for the successors to attend. During these days all major laboratories of the Institution was open to public and VSSC also contributed to the occasion with their advanced exhibits.

SAMAGRA, primarily organized as a Technical Outreach Program marked as the accomplishment of societal obligation of the Institution. Exhibition hall was abundant with school students from various schools in the locality and the college fleet was plying ceaselessly to commute them from respective schools. Each project work was displayed with the help of postures and presentations and school students enthusiastically interacted with project members to understand the fundamentals of the exhibits.
