Indian Society for Technical Education Chapter in MCET was inaugurated on 27.09.2003. We have about 95 staff members in ISTE Staff Chapter and 1024 members in Students Chapter. Both Chapters are actively taking part in organising workshops and technical sessions.
ISTE Chapter of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was selected the Best Chapter of ISTE Kerala Section for the year 2013-2014. The Institute received the award at the 44th Annual National ISTE Convention on 27th November2014 held at CET, Trivandrum
ISTE Chapter of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was selected the Best Chapter of ISTE Kerala Section for the year 2013-2014. The Institute received the award at the 25th State Annual ISTE Convention on 25th October 2014 held at Jyothi Engineering College, Thrissur.
ISTE Chapter of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was selected the Students’ Chapter with Maximum Number of programs during the year 2013-14. The Institute received the award at the 13th Annual ISTE Student Convention held at Mar Baselious College, Trivandrum on 29th August 2014
ISTE Chapter of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was selected the Students Chapter with Maximum Memberships for the year 2012-2013. The Institute received the award at the 12th Annual ISTE Student Convention held at TKM college, on 16th August 2013
ISTE Chapter of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was given the Special appreciation Award for the year 2012-2013. The Institute received the award at the 24th State Annual ISTE Convention held at Heera College of Engineering, Trivandrum on 16th November 2013.
ISTE Chapter of Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology was selected the Best Student Chapter of Kerala Section for the year 2010-2011. The Institute received the award at the Annual ISTE Student Convention held at Jayam Engineering College, Dharmapuri on 30 September, 2011.
The Chapter received the award for Maximum number of activities and Maximum number of new life members in 2010-2011. The award was presented in the Annual State Convention at Vidya Academy of Science and technology, Trichur on 19 November 2011.

FDP for Senior Faculty Members
“Faculty Development Programme was conducted” from 8th to 10th June 2015 organised by ISTE MCET Chapter @ Surya Hotel, Nedumangad. The event was inagurated by Dr. Ashalatha Thampuran, Director MCET.
National Technology Day
ISTE MCET Chapter in association with KSCSTE conducted National Technology Day in MCET on the theme “Recent Advances of Technology in Technical Education” on 11th May 2015. Dr. K P P Pillai, former Principal of Govt. Engineering College Kannur & College of Engineering, Trivandrum was the chief guest for the inauguration and delivered the keynote address. Dr..K.R. Lekha, Scientist E2& Head, WSD, KSCSTE gave a special Lecture on “Science & Technology Development- A National level Initiation”. Afternoon session was used to conduct technology games such as software debugging, hardware debugging, robotics, talent in the field of tall structure construction.

FACULTY INDUCTUION PROGRAMME
A one week FACULTY INDUCTUION PROGRAMME was organized from 11th May to 16th May 2015 by ISTE MCET Chapter. Dr. K P P Pillai, former Principal of Govt Engineering College Kannur & College of Engineering, Trivandrum inaugurated the Programme and delivered the key note address on Excellence in Teaching. The inauguration was Presided by Dr. Ashalatha Thampuran , Executive Director, MCET and Dr. R. Ibrahimkutty, Principal MCET gave the Welcome Address. 27 faculty members from Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology participated in the programme. The resource persons included 3 in- house faculty and 5 invited speakers. The program emphasis was on innovative practices in teaching, Teacher team working for instructional excellence, innovative teaching methodologies, Role of teachers as mentors, Responsibilities of teachers, understanding adolescence and yoga. Microteaching sessions were conducted in which each participant demonstrated class room teaching. A group of senior faculty and peers evaluated their performance. This was recorded and projected and each faculty was asked for self evaluation. Corrections and suggestions for improvements were made. The participants’ feedback was collected.
