Mohandas College of Engineering & Technology

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) of MCET was established in 2007, with the objective of enabling the students to start their own entrepreneurial ventures. The IEDC coordinator works closely with the University’s Entrepreneurship Development Cell and various State Government organizations which promote entrepreneurship. The cell conducts regular workshops & trainings for students on various aspects regarding startups, marketing and preparation of project reports, financial support, mentoring, venture capitals etc.

A Technology Business Incubation Centre (TIBIC) functioning under IEDC provides incubation support to potential entrepreneurs among the students. MCET students have availed the pre-incubation facility, and eight companies were successfully incubated and established.

Interested students can join the EDC club from first year onwards, and participate in the activities of the cell. The students can also later avail the pre-incubation facility.

IDEC received financial assistances from AICTE, Kerala Startup Mission and District Industries Center (Trivandrum) for setting up infrastructure and conducting BOOTCAMP activities.

MCET IEDC received the award for exemplary performance from Kerala Startup Mission during the academic year 2015-2016.
