ETERJA 2016 is the organization of students of Electrical and Electronics department. ‘ETERJA’ started with a vision to enhance the engineering skills, soft skills and other technical and non technical talents of the students, this year decided to focus on Energy conservation and management which has emerged as major policy objective for our nation. Various activities were planned to conduct under ‘ETERJA’ for the promotion of energy conservation and curb energy wastage through proper measures.
The activities of ETERJA for this year commenced with the inaugural ceremony conducted on 26th August 2016. The event was inaugurated by Shri.A.M.Narayanan, Head, Energy Efficiency Division, Energy Management Centre, Thiruvananthapuram and delivered a talk on “Supply chain and global energy management”. The different activities which includes competitions on paper presentation, quiz, debate, essay writing ,collage etc were already conducted and prizes were distributed in the inaugural function
ETERJA 2015 – (Association of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering )comprises of students and staff of Electrical and Electronics Department which focus to enhance the engineering skills, soft skills and other technical aspects of the students. It gives immense opportunities for the students to create awareness about electrical energy conservation and its significance in the society. The various activities under Eterja enable the students to understand the practical aspects of electrical energy and how to use them in an appropriate and judicious manner. The motto of Eterja :- Todays wastage is tomorrows shortage. This year we have a different theme for Eterja, that is, the theme for Eterja 15 is “Energy conservation and management”.
- National Conference conducted by Department of Electrical and Electronics, MCET “Recent Innovations in Power Systems Operation and Control” – RIPOC-13 in association with IEEE PES Kerala Chapter was held at Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology from June 27th to 29th 2013.
- Major National Conferences conducted by EEE Dept. of MCET COMPCON on Communication, Power and Controls was jointly conducted by EEE and ECE Departments in 2009. Dr Atherton, the eminent Professor from University of Sussex, gave Lectures on 50 years of Control. Large number of participants from Colleges, R&D Institutes attended the Conference. Advances in Power Electronics and Controls, was conducted in Dec 2011. Dr Peter Fleming of Rolls Royce University, UK, was the Key Speaker
